Kalli Nepantla (The House of In-Between) is based on the real life experiences of an Indigenous woman and her family.
Each Member of the family lives with their own mental health realities and fights to maintain a sense of balance.
During the course of the film, this balance is lost.
“Mothers. Daughters. Sisters. Women. We're all connected to a feminine source. Similarly for everyone on this land, we have a connection to the Indigenous communities that came before us.”

Year after year, Native/Indigenous representation in the media ranks at the bottom. This metric is alarming, given that there is increasingly more demand for diverse stories all around the world. Our film aims to be a big drop in a small bucket, a project by/for/and about Indigenous people in LA.
